How to install Seeed Studio Wio Link Server in QNAP NAS?

In this tutorial, you will learn how to install Seeed Studio Wio Link Server in QNAP NAS. Currently, only support x86 & ARMv7 models to use this function.

According to different NAS models, there are two different establishments:

  1. Install Wio Link Server in Container Station
    • x86
    • ARMv7
  2. Wio Link Server IP setting
  3. Wio Link APP setting

 

1. Install Wio Link Server in Container Station


Ensure you already installed QNAP Container Station before starting this function.

  • x86 NAS model
  1. Go to Main Menu > Click “Network & Virtual Switch”“Interfaces” (For example: in Adapter1, it has connected the Internet)
  2. Go to Container Station > Click “Create” > Search for “Wio Kink” > Click “Install”
  3. Click “Advanced Settings
  4. Click “Networking Settings”
    a. Network Mode: Choose bridge
    b. Use Interface: Choose the Adapter which has already connected to Internet (For example: Adapter 1)
  5. Click “Shared Folders” > Establish volume and assign path to /root/wio  > Click “Create”

 

  • ARMv7 NAS model

Currently, Container Station do not support for ARMv7 NAS model link and Seed Studio put the Docker image in  armhf.registry.marina.io (Not in Docker hub); thus, in the following steps only use command to pull image

  1. SSH to QNAP NAS
  2. Run command:
  3. Go to QTS and open Container Station > Click Images page
  4. Click “+
  5. Click “Advanced Settings
  6. Click “Networking Settings”
    a. Network Mode: Choose bridge
    b. Use Interface: Choose the Adapter which has already connected to Internet (For example: Adapter 1)
  7. Click “Shared Folders” > Establish volume and assign path to /root/wio  > Click “Create”
     

2. Wio Link Server IP Setting


  1. Go to Container Station > Click “Containers” > Click “Wio_link container
  2. Modify the Wio Link server setting and ckick “Terminal”
     
  3. Enter bash and click OK
  4. Enter ip addr command to check the IP address (This sample IP adress is: 192.16.0.107)
  5. Edit/root/wio/config.py  and enter wio_link container  IP address (For example: http://192.168.0.107:8080) You may use vi in bash to edit or edit it in the File Station wio_data volume)
  6. Run the command and restart Wio_link

3. Wio Link APP Setting


  1. Download & install Wio Link APP in mobile app
  2. Modify the Server Location
  3. The remain stpes, refer to official tutorial – STEP 2: Create your Account
