QVR Face is a facial recognition application by QNAP, by integrating advanced AI imaging technology into their smart video surveillance solution. This application is based on Intel OpenVINO and analyzes data using CPU, GPU or VPU resources. This enables facial recognition from a live camera streams via QVR Pro or RTSP to function accurately and allows more room for flexibility.

QVR Face is an application on the QNAP NAS with functions such as analyzing video streams, automatically categorizing unfamiliar faces, labeling VIP persons and, of course, facial recognition from a video source (may it be a live stream or an imported video file).  Any facial recognition events or warnings picked up by QVR Face can be sent to any of QNAP’s surveillance applications, or even 3rd-party applications.

Aside from common industrial scenarios, some practical applications of QVR Face may include giving product recommendations or promotions to frequent customers in a retail scenario, and broadcasting advertisements on digital displays based on the viewers’ faces.
